UMass Medical School researchers recommend physicians and clinicians look into the mealtimes of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) after their study found that this population of children has high food selectivity and more mealtime behavior problems. The study was featured in an Autism Speaks Science News article July 7.

An agreement between Massachusetts and the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services that will fund early intervention services for children on the autism spectrum is critical because it provides care at a crucial time in development, said Amy Weinstock, director of the Autism Insurance Resource Center at UMass Medical School.
