The Program for Improving Public Healthcare Systems (PIPS)

What is the Program for Improving Public Healthcare Systems (PIPS)?

PIPS is all about making sure children and teens get better, fairer, and more effective health and behavioral health care.

What does PIPS do?

  • Training & Support
    • We create and improve tools to screen and assess children’s health and behavioral health needs.
    • Help the workforce, like clinicians, improve their skills in assessing the needs of the children/families they serve.
    • Advise policymakers using data to make better decisions and provide better outcomes for children and families.
  • Research & Interventions
    • Studies how well screening and assessment tools work
    • Tests new ways to improve health services across large systems, like Medicaid (MassHealth).
    • Looks at differences in access and outcomes
  • Simulation & Innovation
    • Uses simulations (like practice scenarios and videos) to test and improve public health programs before they are widely used.
