Promoting Early intervention Timing and Attention to Language (PETAL Study)
Infants who have an older sibling with autism are at increased risk for language delays, with approximately 40% experiencing language delay and/or later diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. The PETAL Study aims to determine the best timing for very early intervention that targets communication and language in infants at increased likelihood for autism, and to guide families on how to support and promote their baby’s language development.
